– 32 Savage Orc Boys w/full command (Complete!) – 38 Night Goblins with 2 Night Goblin Fanatics (Complete!) – Orc Big Boss Battle Standard Bearer on foot (Complete!) Here’s the list of all that was completed (and a couple things that I’m adding to the mix!):
The Orcs & Goblins are now completed and they’ll be looking forward to some more action in the near future! Either way, I faced 3 great opponents and always have a good time when I get to play Warhammer. One more turn I believe I would’ve been able to catch some of the units and it might’ve given me more points to get a win instead of a draw. In the draw, I firmly believe that I would’ve taken them out but we only got to turn 4 and we had to call it because we ran out of time and in that turn, I successfully broke 5 out of 6 units that were surrounding my Black Orcs. In true Orc-y fashion, during one game, I really needed both my Goblins and Savage Orcs to charge at the same time and… you guessed it… they failed their Animosity test and ended up squabbling… Seems like these things happen at the most inopportune times! I won against High Elves, lost to a Vampire Counts army, and had a draw against an all-Goblins army. But that’s the way things go when you play Orcs & Goblins. Here’s some pics I took on Saturday to show the whole army, as well as the Ork-y display board.Īs far as the games go, some things went to plan and others not so much. I’m definitely gonna pat myself on the back for this one, it was hard to do but I got the whole army done. So after all the last 5 weeks’ late nights, early mornings, and black spray paint, all of my hard work paid off and so I won Best Painted. I ended up the day 1-1-1 and was able to walk away with the Best Painted Award, which is always nice since I try to do my best when it comes to painting my armies. Great times were had and I finally got my first win with the Da Green Tide against Brian Penrose’s High Elves.
Well, Saturday was the Back to School Bash and we had our second biggest turnout for our Wheat Shocker Tournament Series – 18 people! We had some guys come up from Tulsa, Oklahoma and a couple of others from Lawrence, Kansas. So I was up late on Friday night, and as stated, I didn’t get the chance to show what was done. Thanks to everybody for the words of encouragement as I was wading through the sea of green on my way to finishing them off. In all, I painted the army from start to finish in about 6 weeks. Since I was up until about midnight on Friday night finishing off the last of the Black Orcs I was unable to get a post in to show that I had finished them and in turn also complete the entire Orc & Goblins army! I was a massive undertaking and led to a lot of sleepless nights but it’s something that I’m definitely proud of.
